St. Lonan.
The name Lonan is entered, in the Martyrology of Tallagh, at the 6th of June. His time and locality are alike unknown. It is recorded, likewise, in the Martyrology of Donegal, that veneration was given to Lonan, on this day.

The Mac Curtins, who were the Arch-Seanachies of Munster descend from Saint Lonan, so it is likely he was from Corcomruadh. Here is their descent via Lonan from the O'Connors of Corcomruadh :
FRAOCH, brother of Cubroc, who is No. 82 on the "O'Conor" (Corcomroe) pedigree, was the ancestor of Clann Cruitin; modernized O'Cruitin and O'Cuarthain; and anglicised MacCurtin, Curtin, Curtain, Jordan, and Jourdan.
82. Fraoch: son of Oscar.
83. Carthann: his son.
84. Lonan: his son.
85. Seanan: his son.
86. Labann: his son.
87. Brocan: his son.
88. Cruitin File ("cruitin:" Irish, a crooked-back person; "file," a poet, bard or minstrel): his son; a quo Clann Cruitin.
Not necessarily. There are at least 7 saints who share this name. I'm afraid that the Lonan with the June 6 feast is the only one I have yet had a chance to write about. All we know about him is the recording of his name on the calendar, there is no other information. Some of the others do have places associated with them.
I am doing a bit of digging on this one - and may have one possible answer. Best guess via local area and historians from last century. North Clare etc.
Will be interested to see the evidence. Thank you.
Wouldn't we all ....
